America has always been steeped with Family traditions. Some of these just make me smile. And that’s when I see art and creativity are still alive and doing well. I find it wonderful to see families working together just for the fun of it. No computer, no technology, doing something with their hands and their imagination to simply make themselves and others smile. Not a feat that mainstream media would ever consider picking up, because it’s about good wholesome family living.
Kind of a shame that little gems of family traditions are being miss filed in the archives and annals of history.
It’s strange and unfortunate what popular media decides to widely broadcast. It is however fortunate for all of us that a great many families still believe in America, the family, and keeping tradition alive regardless of “make believe“ popular opinion.
While heading towards a photo shoot in the Smoky Mountains National Park, past a little town called Townsend, Tennessee, that’s where I stumbled upon theses wonderful jewels of creativity and talent.
A few hey-bales, paint and miscellaneous inanimate objects, coupled with a few pumpkins for an autumn setting.
It made me stop. I had to take some photos to share. - William Hartley, 2017
